Retirement Village Garden Maintenance

Retirement villages in the Fremantle, Melville and Cockburn corridors carry two kinds of garden at once: common grounds that must look immaculate to prospective residents touring the village, and individual unit gardens that residents are attached to and often still tend themselves. We run both under one program, with the common areas on a fixed cycle and unit gardens on a rotating schedule so every resident sees their crew on a predictable week.

Common area work covers entry statements and village signage, community centre surrounds, bowling greens and recreation lawns, walking paths, shaded seating areas and boundary hedging. Unit garden work is lighter and more personal — light pruning, weeding, mulching and seasonal tidy-ups, with the resident's own plantings respected rather than cleared out for uniformity. Where a resident wants to keep doing their own beds, that is noted on the schedule and we leave it alone.

Village management gets a documented program for the year, photo reporting after each common-area visit, and one contact for scheduling changes around village events, open days and maintenance shutdowns. Battery equipment keeps mornings quiet, and paths are swept clear immediately because scooters and walkers use them constantly.
